Four Questions: Ryan Whiting, Project Manager

Royalty General Construction

Ryan Whiting is a project manager here at Royalty. He's been with the company for just over two years now and he has been an integral part of our team. He has a great sense of humour and really loves baseball.

Here are Ryan's four questions so you can get to know him a bit better:

Why do you do what you do?

I originally went to school to be a cabinetmaker at Humber College and the job prospects weren't exactly what I was looking for so I went to George Brown for Construction Engineering. I learned that being a project manager was the best route for me to take after school so here I am.

I love the decision making aspects of my job, the difference each day brings, and the interactions I get to make with so many people.

How long have you been doing what you do?

I have been a project manager at Royalty for two years now. Previously was a project coordinator for three years at another company.

What are your thoughts on DIY 30-minute reno shows?

Those shows I tell ya, they give some people in our lives a little too much hopes and dreams. The transformations are pretty cool, but the realistic timelines and budgets are a little off.

What's your favourite thing about baseball season?

Baseball season is my forever love and passion. I love everything about baseball season, from the warm weather, to going to games, to a few adult beverages and enjoying times with friends at the game.

I still play baseball every weekend and hope I can play for a few more years at a competitive level. I don't ever leave work early or watch the game on my phone at work haha ;).

Thanks Ryan!
